Traveling With Strength And Grace: A Journey Of Faith And Accessibility
When God Called Him To Ministry: He Wheeled Into Action.
Imagine yourself unable to run, walk or crawl but you hear God’s calling to minister to others. You rely on your family to wash you, feed you, and transport you in and out of your home. Imagine dreaming of traveling to big cities, Disneyworld, and even local attractions, only able to move a few of your fingers.
Christopher Davison, a man on a mission, lives this very life everyday. Diagnosed at age six with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, Christopher, now age 33, counts on his mom and dad to care for his every need, every single day. From transferring him into his custom-made wheelchair from his bed every morning, administering his abdominal feeding sessions, dressing him for his workday (yes, I said work), to transporting him everywhere he needs to go—Christopher is dependent upon others to help him move throughout his daily life.
“Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) is a genetic disorder characterized by progressive muscle degeneration and weakness due to the alterations of a protein called dystrophin that helps keep muscle cells intact,” (1) according to the Muscular Dystrophy Association’s website.
For those of us who can hop out of bed in the morning, slide into our day clothes, eat our bacon and eggs, run out the door, and drive ourselves to work—we sometimes take for granted our physical capabilities and oftentimes complain about our daily chores. I had the pleasure of interviewing Christopher this month. Let’s take a moment to learn how one man’s journey of faith and accessibility inspires others to live their truth for God.

A World Meant for Everyone: Why Accessibility Matters.
Christopher has been on more than his fair share of trips, but he’s also encountered countless moments where the world seemed not quite ready for him to be a part of it. For instance, the time he found himself needing to transfer into an airport wheelchair from his customized chair to board an airplane. Unable to use his own wheelchair—it was going to be stowed below with the luggage—his mom and dad transferred him two times before he finally was seated into his assigned seat.
Or the time a supposed “accessible” trip to Philadelphia to tour Independence Hall and other historical sites, turned out to be anything but accessible. While many travelers use things like elevators and ramps as options, for someone like Christopher, these aren’t just amenities—they’re lifelines.
Narrow doorways, steep ramps, or inadequate transportation can quickly turn a fun trip into a frustrating experience. But Christopher has learned to roll with it—literally. With a bit of flexibility and a lot of faith, he’s discovered that even the most inconvenient travel situations can turn into meaningful lessons in perseverance and patience.
For Christopher, accessibility is about more than just ramps and elevators (though, yes, those are important). It’s about ensuring that everyone, no matter their abilities, has the opportunity to enjoy the same experiences, see the same sights, and visit the same destinations. It’s about dignity. It’s about equality.
And, perhaps most importantly, it’s about making sure that no one is left out of the adventure. Travel destinations are improving their accessibility to accommodate disabled visitors, but many have a long way to go in offering their entire location for all customers to enjoy.
The very best trip Christopher has taken with his family was Disneyworld in Orlando, Florida. The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) (2) accommodations were done almost perfectly, as he remembers. He was able to participate on many of Disneyworld’s rides in his own wheelchair. He enjoyed the theater shows, fireworks, and parades. Even the restrooms were easily accessible and large enough for his wheelchair and his helpers.
Christopher and his parents commend Disneyworld in Orlando for taking the necessary steps, offering its entire park to disabled visitors. It’s a trip they’ll never forget. They loved it there so much, they visited 8 times!

Faith and Education: Finding God’s Love in Every Journey.
The Bible teaches us that we’re all made in God’s image, regardless of how our bodies work. Since he was young, Christopher trusted God’s plan for his life. Memorizing bible verses and daily prayer, encouraged him with God’s strength and grace.
“My parents have a strong faith,” says Christopher.
Growing up with biblical teachings, tremendous love, and a positive attitude, Christopher was determined to follow God’s lead as he planned his future after high school.
When Christopher approached his high school graduation from his Home-School Curriculum, he felt God’s love nudging him to switch his undergraduate studies of computer technology to attend Moody Bible Institute, located in Chicago, Illinois.
He enrolled into their online undergraduate program to receive his Bachelor of Science in Ministry Leadership with Preaching Emphasis in 2009, beginning his foundation to follow God’s call to leadership.
After completing his degree from Moody Bible Institute in 2013, he continued his online studies for his Master’s degree—a Master of Divinity—from Temple Baptist Seminary, based in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Finishing his degree in 2017, prepared Christopher for his ministry program he soon would create with determination.
Christopher was Assistant Pastor from 2011-2021 at Circle Drive Baptist Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
“It was a great mentorship and very valuable,” Christopher notes. His experience as an Assistant Pastor, led him to develop, establish, and launch his own online ministry on September 10, 2021.
Wheel Truth Media finally came to fruition with his dedication and perseverance. Christopher’s physical disabilities didn’t slow him down. He brainstormed with friends and family—eventually publishing consistent content videos and blogs—encouraging his followers to:
“Learn Truth. Live Boldly. Love Christ.” (3)
The Mission: “Wheel Truth Media exists to proclaim biblically sound truth through digital content that equips Christians to live boldly for Christ, be witnesses of the gospel, and uplift the disabled”. (4)

A Journey of Learning, Living and Loving: Inspires and Encourages.
For Christopher, traveling is about more than just seeing the world. It’s about sharing the love of Christ with others. It’s about showing the world that even in a wheelchair, life can be full of joy and adventure. And it’s about making sure that every person—no matter their ability—has the chance to experience the beauty of God’s creation.
Through his videos and blogs, Christopher is raising awareness around accessibility for disabled travelers—reminding vacation and tourist destinations—business is lost when they don’t provide the proper accommodations for everyone. He’s always traveling with his parents, so that's the revenue of three visitors an attraction is missing out on.
Wheel Truth Media, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a Board of Directors, meeting regularly, to discuss the direction of the organization and handle business obligations keeping the ministry’s mission priority. (5)
Christopher and his family encourage travel and tourist attractions to fully comply with the ADA. (6) Giving all visitors a comfortable experience. His Organization delivers content to support those in times of trials and weakness—who need strength and patience to overcome life’s obstacles. I say, we all can benefit from his messages. Christopher’s inspiration always includes biblical teachings from scripture—a favorite reminder of his—2 Corinthians 12:9-10.
And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong. (7)
Christopher continues to live the “wheel truth” in God’s love. Sharing his journey of faith and accessibility—he knows his disabilities, his scriptural knowledge, and his love for Christ, exemplifies the true mission of Wheel Truth Media.
For Christopher, travel isn’t just about escaping for a while—it’s about living out his faith in every bump of his journey. His vacations may come with extra equipment and detailed planning, but he’s learned to rely on God’s strength (and his parents) to get through life’s challenges. And through his travels, he continues to inspire others with disabilities to dream big and trust in God’s grace, knowing that no barrier is too high for His love to overcome.
Wheel Truth Media was born from Christopher’s journey of faith and accessibility. His love for God and his obedience to serve others, gives him courage everyday to learn truth, live boldly, and love Christ.
He quoted another favorite Bible verse as we ended our interview: Romans 8:28.
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. (8)
Christopher Davison is on a mission to help bring awareness and understanding to the challenges disabled travelers face, one trip at a time. He proclaims biblically sound truth, equips Christians to live boldly for Christ, is a witness to the Gospel, and uplifts the disabled.
Christopher trusts God’s purpose for his life.
